The
Ashley and Sierra Memorial Scholarship Fund
established within Community Foundation
The Ashley and Sierra Memorial
Scholarship Fund
has been established as a
component charitable fund of the Community
Foundation of Orange and Sullivan.
The Ashley and Sierra Memorial
Scholarship Fund
is available to graduating
seniors at Monticello High School who exhibit
well-rounded scholarship and vocational aptitude
geared to the service of others and the
ever-changing needs of society.
The families of Ashley Lynn Morgan and Sierra
Lynn
Cerrone created the original fund in 2005 to
honor and celebrate the lives of two best friends
who lost their life together in a car crash in 2004.
At the time of their
passing, Ashley and Sierra were both freshman at
Monticello High School and were on the
Varsity Golf Team as well as
members of the Debate Team.
The fund has
provided over $16,000 in scholarships to Monticello
High School seniors over the last 6 years.
“We are very excited to
now be teaming up with the Community Foundation,”
said Ashley’s and Sierra’s families.
“With the help of the
Community Foundation, we will be able to award more
scholarships in honor of our daughters,” they added. The Ashley and Sierra Memorial Scholarship Fund
is
facilitated through the Community Foundation of
Orange and Sullivan, a 501(c)(3) public charity that
was created to help individuals, organizations, and
businesses establish charitable endowment funds to
benefit their community.
